Napkins with a Twist and Then Some

We still have great fondness for our napkin folding book, NAPKINS WITH A TWIST, published in 2006 by Artisan Books, and we often consult it for fun folds of all kinds.  Picking up where the book left off, we continue to create new folds.  This one, the Checkerboard fold, was created by Corrie recently, and we are delighted to share it with you here.

Step 1: Begin by folding a square napkin in half.

 

Step 2: Fold all four corners in evenly.

 

Step Three: Without turning the napkin over, fold each point in towards the center.

 

Steps Four: Carefully flip the napkin over and begin folding in each corner so they meet in the center.

 

Step Five: Continue folding all corners to meet in the center.

 

Step Six: Flip the napkin over again and you're done!

While it's tempting to let this long New York winter try our patience, instead we embrace Mother Nature's arctic beauty. Did you know that daffodils are one of Spring's earliest characters? So as we bid adieu to Winter and welcome the first day of Spring, enjoy this shot of rare white daffs in snow on our own Brooklyn block.
