We get so focused on showing the polished photos of an event, a pop-up store, or even a product that we often forget that the process images are just as fascinating as the end result. I am happy to share the documentation of the creation of WOOD SHOP at Haus Interior, our month-long concept store ambush. We’re going to start showing much more of our “process” going forward for all kinds of other projects too!
The gals at Haus emptied out the shop of their usual product the evening before we arrived, and at 7:00 AM on a Wednesday, February 1rst, we pulled up with our truck. And then we went to work . . .
The above stop motion film was shot over 17 hours, the exact length of time it took us to set up the shop. The space is only 400 square feet, but it still takes a little village to make it all happen! Did you notice when we all sat down to eat dinner? (wink)
I can’t help but share more photos from the set up day below. They are very romantic to me – VERY downtown New York art shots, the kind of photos that made me PINE for New York when I was a wee one.
A big thank you to Gustavo Campos for so beautifully capturing the journey. To us, that is as important as the reaching the finish line.
