I have been thinking a lot about David Hammons lately.
I did not see the below “piece” in real life, but "Bliz-aard Ball Sale" from 1983 in which the artist sold snowballs on the street, nestled amongst other street vendors in New York City reminds me how important it is for art to walk the line between brilliance and idiocy. Hammons sold the snowballs, priced according to size, making something fleeting and ordinary the focus of “value.”
I think about that every day.

Definitely one of my all time favorite street artists.
