We are working on a project with the fabulous folks over at Louis Vuitton, right now. This recurring series of events is referred to as ART TALKS, and each “talk” focuses on a different artist that means something to the brand. This week, the amazingly prolific Ruben Toledo is at bat, and Scott and I were fortunate enough to be able to meet him and his wife Isabel (also an amazing creative force), at their studios to go over the work that will be on exhibit for the event. WOWSA! If their spaces are not sublime and iconic New York, I don’t know what is!
In this day and age when the Damian Hirsts of the world become multi millionaires and run huge businesses of art making, it is so nice to see my art fantasy in action: two people who have CHOSEN to live a creative LIFESTYLE. It’s not about money at the end of the day, it is about creation. I like that. So much.
Ruben’s studio was beautifully shot by Todd Selby and showcased on The Selby, and while I have been doing my research, I stumbled upon this photograph that I think is just amazing by by Ruven Afandor. In it, Isabel poses and Ruben draws on her thereby embodying the couple in one sitting.
We are so looking forward to Thursday’s ART TALK, guys. Thank you so much for all of the beauty you create!
D.
