Sorry gang, for getting off track this past week, but it is my pleasure to get back the wedding we designed and produced in Istanbul in June . . . still so fondly at the forefront of my thoughts!
Following the joyful, magic carpet fantasy we painted on the Bosporus the night prior, it was important for us to create an evening that was very different but equally special for the actual wedding night. We fashioned a chic and sophisticated soiree set amongst a spectacular location, the Esma Sultan in response. A true testament to modern meeting ancient, a glass box shimmers within this gorgeous waterfront palace that burnt down many moons ago. What remains now is a stunning brick shell, the façade of a once royal palace intact. Guests arrive to a beautiful terrace where a white carpet lined with 20 violinists welcomes guests with a stunning visual component. The lovely couple arrived on a Sultan boat and were greeted by guests with traditional songs. A dramatic drum group surprised the guests, followed by a dazzling fireworks display over the Bosphorus River.
Twinkling mirror garlands captured and reflected the fiery lights like a spectacle of shooting stars. Drummers led guests inside to dinner where the entire dining room was dressed in glittering golds and pristine whites. Canopies and dividers where made out of twinkling gold stars that we custom designed. The stars being inspired from an Arabic building in Andalusia, Spain, the Alhambra, for its amazing arched patterns and Moorish architecture. Rows of round tables boasted elegant white paper 'trees' with cascading white blossoms. Each paper bloom glowed with a golden monogram of the bride and groom. A glistening gold, mirrored dance floor caught the light, an array of infused Ottoman patterns ever moving. This was a truly regal event embedded with delicate meaning and intimate tradition.
And after dinner and dancing, a dynamic after party/dessert lounge was revealed downstairs. Sexy and dark with rich pinks and bold blacks, we developed our most modern take on the emblem pattern for a perfect Arabian midnight affair. Sexy candles glimmered within enchanting lanterns, and guests celebrated well into the night on a vibrant dance floor, later retiring their aching feet within intimate little nooks.
May all your event planning wishes be our command! Our sincere congratulations to Dina and Ramsey. It was our great honor to be there to help you celebrate your special day.
